As a first-generation Mexican American, Gabriela developed a strong sense of justice and compassion from an early age. Throughout her childhood, her immigrant parents instilled the values of hard work and perseverance on her and her siblings.  With the support of her family, she attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. Motivated by her desire to help others, Gabriela pursued a Juris Doctor degree at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. During law school, she volunteered for legal aid clinics, gaining invaluable experience in helping underserved communities. She became actively involved in campus organizations focused on social justice and immigrant rights, finding a community that resonated with her experiences. Her passion for advocacy grew, and she became a voice for marginalized communities, participating in rallies and workshops.
 

After passing the Texas bar exam in 2017, Gabriela began her legal career in immigration law serving Houston’s large immigration community. Soon after, she accepted a position at a prominent personal injury law firm in Houston, Texas. There, she honed her skills in litigation, specializing in cases involving automobile accidents and workplace injuries. Her dedication to her clients quickly earned her a reputation as a fierce advocate, and she secured substantial settlements for many individuals who had suffered due to negligence. Her dedication to transparency and integrity has fostered strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
